Double Bass Dan & Friends, a collective of musicians from all across the musical spectrum, have banded together to record and release a song celebrating the NHS and all it’s workers on the year of it’s 75th Birthday.
They will be releasing ‘Say Yes For The NHS’ on 5th July, to tie in with the NHS’s Birthday, and all proceeds from the single will go directly to NHS Charities Together.
Dan Cundy AKA Double Bass Dan has spearheaded the project, with the help of Dan Garber, as well as Aaron Horn and Jamie Rodigan of Crate Classics - all helping turn his idea into a reality.
The track features the talents of MC Grammar, an NHS worker, and Harmonica extraordinaire, Ray Wallen, who has only very recently retired from being a frontline ambulance services worker for 45 years. The BBC’s Dr Chris Van Tulleken will also introduce the track and feature in the video.
To compliment the single release, the team are calling for anyone who would like to show their appreciation for the NHS and it’s workers, to create social media posts of themselves singing and dancing along to the song, including the hashtags #sayyes4thenhs and #nhs75thbirthday, & tagging @sayyes4thenhs channels. Videos can also be sent directly to sayyes4thenhs@gmail.com.
lyrics
Say Yes For The NHS!
They’re here to help us when we get sick They drive their Ambulances very quick To get to people in their need on time Now and forever is their time to shine
So say Yes!
Say Yes for the NHS!
Say Yes! (Yes!)
We know you’re the best
So say Yes!
Say Yes for the NHS!
Say Yes! (Yes!)
We know you’re the best!
Yes! We know you’re the best (Yeah!) Yes! We know you’re the best (Yeah!) Yes! We know you’re the best (Yeah!) Yes! We know you’re the best
MC Grammar Rap:
Mic check!
Say Yes for the NHS
Now clap
Give it up for the champs
Comin’ through with an Ambulance
You know that they’re always there to save you So make sure you stay grateful
Cause health is wealth, but if you’re unwell,
Who else you gonna call for help?
So say Yes!
Say Yes for the NHS!
Say Yes! (Yes!)
We know you’re the best
So say Yes!
Say Yes for the NHS!
Say Yes! (Yes!)
We know you’re the best!
Yes! We know you’re the best (Yeah!) Yes! We know you’re the best (Yeah!) Yes! We know you’re the best (Yeah!) Yes! We know you’re the best
Now everybody has a job to do
You’ve got to find the thing, that suits you yeah One of the hardest, and one of the best,
Is saving lives for the NHS!
Chorus 2
So say Yes!
Say Yes for the NHS! Say Yes! (Yes!)
We know you’re the best So say Yes!
Say Yes for the NHS! Say Yes! (Yes!)
We know you’re the best! So say Yes!
Say Yes for the NHS! Say Yes! (Yes!)
We know you’re the best So say Yes!
Say Yes for the NHS! Say Yes! (Yes!)
We know you’re the best! So say Yes!
